Summer school in Cambodia
Summer school in Cambodia was a wonderful experience for me. Due to summer school, I had a chance to see a lot of things, which I learnt during my Bachelor degree, in real life. For example, a lot of kinds of plants and fruits such as green coconut, cacao tree, dragon fruit or palm oil. Furthermore, I got to know a lot of new people from different culture and totally different priorities in their life.
The summer school in Cambodia was focused on scientific writing: step by step. The truth is, that due to Bachelor thesis, which I wrote before summer school, a lot of topics which were thought there I already knew. But still, I obtained a lot of new information and new knowledge which will be very useful during the writing my Diploma thesis. Furthermore, I appreciate the activities which were running during summer school such as group works or data collection outside of RUA campus. Due to works in the team, I realized that working with foreign people from a different culture is really complicated and sometimes was a little bit difficult to understand each other. However, I consider this experience such as big advantage for me and my future work in these localities.
Due to my visit to Cambodia, I also obtained additional information about Cambodia history. The stories from Cambodian citizens, visiting Prison S21 and Killing fields were the major moments which very touched me, and I will never forget it.
Czech students and teaching staff, involved in summer school, were also brilliant. We were a lot of fun in Cambodia and I met a lot of new friends.
