Project objectives:
This project aims to further strengthen the capacities and cooperation of young teachers, researchers and master and doctoral students at selected Ukrainian universities through the further development of the inter-university platform – AgriSciences Platform for increasing capacities from selected areas of agrarian sciences, which will continue to be crucial for the post-war development of Ukraine.
In addition to topics close to the traditional concept of AgriSciences, the focus will also be on the specific challenges of today's Ukraine (i.e. Waste of War; Deforestation as a consequence of war; Disturbance of ecosystems; Air and water pollution; Consequences of lost access to water sources (Black sea); Polluted soils – what effects will it bring; Biodiversity losses; Migration and its effects on the agrarian sector).
Furthermore, for the creation of multidisciplinary scientific teams and the announcement of grant opportunities that will address new challenges in these key areas, which will be crucial for Ukraine in the current war context and the post-war context.
In addition to the further development of the platform, a series of trainings (whether by Czech or Ukrainian experts) will be carried out aimed at improving scientific outputs and publishing activities, as well as expanding selected expert knowledge. All this is unified into the AgriSci Scientific Academy.
Furthermore, the project will support information sharing and increase scientific and research capacities through the organization of mobilities, within which at least 10 selected Ukrainian young scientists will be sent on an internship to the Czech Republic at CZU.
Another focus of the project will be to share experience with the implementation of gender equality, inclusion, and diversity in the academic sphere, which was also one of the specific requirements of partner universities.
The last output of the project is to increase the motivation of Ukrainian students to study in the Czech Republic by disseminating information about the scholarship program of the Government of the Czech Republic. The proposed project builds on the experience from the implementation of previous projects in Ukraine and expands the activities of full-fledged interconnection of universities dealing with agricultural sciences. Moreover, thanks to this interconnection, cooperation will be strengthened not only between universities, but also their role in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA - European Higher Education Area).
