Habilitation and procedures for granting of professorships at the FTA follows the provisions of the Higher Education Act no. 111/1998 Coll., and are as laid out in the document "Guidelines for habilitation and procedures for the granting of professorships applicable to proceedings initiated after 1.10.2013", and in the Decision of the Dean of the FTA Ref. 3/2014.
Under the Act cited above, habilitation shall entail the verification of scientific expertise and of competence as a teacher, while procedures for the granting of a professorship require the educational and scientific qualifications of a candidate who is a distinguished and recognized scientific personality in their field.
Under the terms of its accreditation, the FTA is authorized to carry out procedures for habilitation and the granting of professorships in "Tropical Agriculture and Ecology".
