Project description:
The project „Enhancement of Technical Education in Cambodia“ is focused on support of technical education at King Norodom Sihamoni General and Technical High School through trainings of technical teachers, provision of material for teaching of technical subjects, establishment of school farm and processing center. In addition, technical education is promoted in the Kompong Chhnang province. The activities are implemented through cooperation of CZU experts, Czech experts outside CZU and Royal University of Agriculture in Cambodia (RUA) experts.
Improvement of education quality, particularly in technical subjects, is highly dependent on effective know-how transfer to students with use of modern teaching methods, regular use of practical educational materials and organization of practical lessons at demonstration facilities. Within the project, school farm focused on crop production as well as animal breeding and centre for processing of agricultural products were established. The school farm is divided to following sections: vegetable garden, plots for feeding production, demonstration plots, nursery, mushroom production, compost, shelter for practical classes, shelter for mechanization, store for machines, tools and other equipment, poultry breeding, pig breeding connected to biogas plant, beekeeping, fish ponds, new well connected to water treatment unit and water tower.
Except for the equipment of school farm and processing center, the school was endowed with practical educational materials on technical subjects, for example models of animals, microscopes, tools for preaparates preparation and many others.
The teachers of the King Norodom Sihamoni General and Technical High School were trained by Czech as well as Cambodian experts in pedagogy and didactics, crop production, animal breeding, mechanization usage, agricultural products processing and electricity. All the trainings were focused mainly on practical teaching process, particularly with use of the equipment provided by the project. Three selected teachers participated in study tour to Czech Republic oriented on other practical trainings and visit with experience sharing at three selected Czech high schools with study programs oriented on agriculture, animal breeding and agricultural mechanization.
Within the project, promotion campaign for the technical education was organized in the Kompong Chhnang province in cooperation with the King Norodom Sihamoni General and Technical High School and VOD.
