A successful online webinar was held on April 30, 2021 by FTA staff and Student Ambassadors for newly admitted foreign students. The webinar was called, "What to do after the entrance exam?", and it was focused on the process of obtaining visas / long-term residence permit for study purposes in the Czech Republic. There were just under 100 foreign students that signed up for the webinar!
This webinar is an extension of the Welcome course, "Multicultural Environment and Studies in the Czech Republic", which is organised by the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTA) implemented within the ESF II; the project Quality improvement of studies at CZU Prague, reg. C. CZ.02.2.69 / 0.0 / 0.0 / 18_056 / 0013123, and is co-financed by the European Union.
New students were welcomed by the Vice-Dean for Development, Ing. Jana Mazancová, Ph.D., who introduced the University and the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences. Students also learned basic information and legal aspects regarding obtaining a Long-term Residence Permit for the purpose of studying in the Czech Republic from Mgr. David Krotil (Counselling Centre for Integration). On behalf of the study department of FTA, Ing. Petra Kejřová introduced details of the process at FTA and further information about all necessary documents.
At the end of the webinar, Student Ambassadors from all over the world shared their practical experience in obtaining visas and long-term residency permits. The new students had the opportunity to hear first-hand experiences and tips from current FTA students from North America, Latin America, Asia, and Africa (with the Czech Embassy located in the home country as well those who had to travel for visa outside their home country).
During the two-hour webinar, new students obtained the necessary information for their first steps to study at FTA. You can find more info about webinar HERE / Questions and Answers HERE.
We are looking forward to welcome incoming students in September 2021 within the main part of the Welcome course "Multicultural Environment and Study in the Czech Republic"!
