The new double degree study programme Agricultural Sciences and Farming Systems in the Tropics and Subtropics jointly coordinated by the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTA, CZU) and the University of Hohenheim (UHOH) was officially opened. This new study programme enables students to profit from the different backgrounds of teaching and research of the partner universities in the area of tropical agriculture. On 28th April 2022, four representatives of the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTA) visited colleagues from the University of Hohenheim (UHOH) in Stuttgart, Germany. During the visit, a signed cooperation agreement, which describes the conditions of study at both universities, was handed over. Moreover, the issues of the study plan, the possibilities of promoting the study programme and issues related to the joint supervision of Master theses in cooperation between the supervisors from both partner institutions were discussed. The first students applied for this study program and after successfully passing the admission procedure they will start studying this new study programme from the academic year 2022/2023.
The aim of this cooperation is not only to expand opportunities for students but also to support scientific cooperation between academics from both institutions. Therefore, the first meeting of various research teams from both institutions will take place on September 14, 2022, in Prague. During this meeting, there will be discussions on common research topics and possibilities for cooperation between scientific teams.
