The essential goal of the research group Consumers’ Behaviour & Capacity Building „COBE“ is capacity building and strengthening the skills of people to respond to the main international challenges addressed to the well-being of the next generations: agriculture, food safety and security, balanced management of the natural resources and sustainable rural development.
The specific research topics include:
- Consumer attitudes toward different products (e.g., tourist preference of traditional food products, dietary supplements, 3D printed meat)
- Consumer behaviour (e.g. effects of COVID-19 pandemic on food consumption)
- Leadership and management in agriculture (e.g., transformational leadership and leaders’ skills)
- Aspects of global value chains focused on tropical agricultural products (e.g. value chain of cashew and pepper in Cambodia)
- Education and employability (e.g. transferable competences)

The team has experience with the coordination of international projects in different countries financed by both EU grants (Erasmus Mundus, Erasmus+) and by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs within the Czech Development Cooperation (e.g. Angola, Cambodia, Ukraine, Thailand, Vietnam).
