Due to the long-term cooperation in Ukraine, another colleague came to visit our Biogas Research Team. This time Associate Professor Yelizaveta Chernysh.
From 13th to 15th January 2020 visited Associate Professor Yelizaveta Chernysh from Department of Applied Ecology, Sumy State University (Ukraine) our Czech University of Life Sciences, specifically Department of Sustainable Technologies and had a meeting with scientists from Biogas Research Team (Group leader - Dr. Hynek Roubík).
The purpose of her visit was to further develop collaboration in education and science between both institutions, discuss possible areas of cooperation and create conditions for joint research projects and continuations of further research activities.
Dr. Hynek Roubík gave Yelizaveta a tour of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague and demonstrated laboratory equipment at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences.
Yelizaveta also gave several lectures for the Biogas Research Team on the following topics:
- Overview of biogas potential in Ukraine
- Low Rank Coal (LRC) Bio-Utilization
- Application of phosphogypsum (by-product of the phosphate fertilizers) in environmentally friendly bioprocesses
This visit was possible due to the established cooperation during projects in Ukraine, especially those supported by Czech Republic Development Cooperation.
One of the joint papers recently published is entitled: “Ecologically Safe Directions of the Low Rank Coal Bioconversion”.
Our second joint paper called "Modelling and development of technological processes for low rank coal bio-utilization on the example of brown coal" is available HERE.
