The ALFABET project (Asia, Life, Food, Agriculture, Biology, Economics, Technology) is coordinated by the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences together with Tadulako University in Indonesia.
The main objective of the project is the exchange of capacities between Asian and European Life Sciences universities. The project aims to contribute to increase the relevance, capacities and effectiveness of the Higher Education System in Asia by strengthening existing cooperation between universities. This mainly involves improving the quality of research, education and practice in the management of natural resources and sustainable development. In addition, the project focus on increasing the professional experience of employees and on the implementation of the European credit system into higher education in Asia. An integral part of the project is mobility of academic staff and students from Asia to the EU and from the EU to Asia. During 2014 - 2018, 142 academic staff and students exchanged, the total budget of the project is 3 million EUR.
