Annotation:
Transforming into a digital economy has been a top priority for Southeast Asian (SEA) countries in general and for Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines in particular to achieve the sectorial upgrading for technology adoption, higher value-added products in the new industries and diversification. Digitalization of extension services is among the strategies to promote the transition toward digital agricultural system. However, the access and use of digital extension services is still needed to investigate and promote, particularly the marginal farmers. Thus, this study/ presentation tries to investigate factors influencing (enablers and barriers) smallholders farmers’ adoption of digital extension services (DES) in SEA. The findings help to provide foundation for formulating sound policies to promote their adoption of DES.

- Dr. Nguyen Duy Quynh Tram: „The dual purposes of using of the Black Soldier Fly larvae as organic waste treatment and animal feeds: A Case Study in VietNam“
Annotation:
The black soldier fly (Hermetia illucens) is an insect of which the larvae can eat almost any organic matter, including organic waste such as food waste and livestock manure. Therefore, the use of BSFL has a great potential in organic waste management. Moreover, the larvae are edible and can fed to livestock, fish or even people. Around the world, black soldier fly farms and composing facilities are being established to process waste into animal feed, with economic and environmental benefits. Viet Nam has gotten benefit greatly from black soldier fly farming to solve multiple problems it faces. In there, the farming systems can be large-scale as well as small size for individual livestock farm or even urban households. This presentation aims to review a role of black soldier fly larvae and their value for feeding fish in Viet Nam.
